Pears
This is how you can freeze Pears.
Preparation
Peel and core and then cut in halves or quarters.
Eating
If fruit is soft, poach with lemon juice and flavourings as required in a light syrup for 1 to 2 minutes. Drain and cool.
Cooking
Poach in a little sugar if you wish until just tender. Drain and cool.
Packaging
Pack as they are in halves or quarters.
Alternatively, pack in a little bit of the cooking syrup.
Ensure the freezer packaging is labelled and dated.
Thawing
Thaw in unopened containers for 3 hours at room temperature.

12 months
