Lemon Green Smoothie
Lemon Green Smoothie is wonderful and fresh for the mornings and you can make it from ingredients you keep in your freezer. If you want to save some time or incorporate this into your meal-planning, then pre-pack your smoothies for the week in individual freezer bags. Prepare them at the weekend and pack and label the ingredients into a freezer bag for each morning of the week. Label if necessary. Simply take the bag out of the freezer and add coconut water from the fridge before blending ready for a terrific morning ahead.
Ingredients:
1 apple
Handful of spinach or kale
1/4 large cucumber
1/2 lemon (or less according to taste)
Coconut water (amount dependent on consistency that you enjoy)
Optional: add a couple of basil or mint leaves.
Method:
Rinse all the ingredients and peel them if you prefer.
Slice the cumber and core the apple.
Juice the lemon.
Add all the ingredients to the blender with the coconut water and mix till you reach the consistency that you like.
Additional Notes:
I find this sweet enough as it is but if you require it to be sweeter than add a bit of honey.
Not a fan of coconut water? Add water or almond milk.
